Hi, I am quite a laid back, friendly and tolerant personality, although somewhat shy/introverted, the type of deep thinking person who feels comfortable away from the crowd but also enjoys the company of a few close friends. At most I try to adhere to an alternative lifestyle, with an interest in Vedic spirituality and orthodox hermeticism which compliments the former when one is not particularly a party animal.
I do not smoke.
Putting childhood aside I am a lifelong vegetarian and enjoy creative vegetarian cooking and catering in this respect. I have a long history of interest in self-sufficiency and organic farming and have helped with the set up and design of projects in the past. At present I have just enrolled on a herbal medicinal practitioner course but have used herbal medicine to target any health concerns for many years. I have worked part-time in both Steiner and mainstream education including a Catholic school for several years, and remain interested in holistic and alternative childhood education.
I am reasonably creative, painting and sculpting in the past, and also well travelled. My favourite places are the rural mountainous areas of Greek Islands, I love the sun spattered olive groves, the shapes of olive trees, and the vineyards. I have recently visited both Italy and Portugal to experience the differing and stunning landscapes, Umbria, and the national forests of central Portugal which are incredibly beautiful and peaceful. I enjoy walking but am no longer an avid long distance seasoned hiker, more of a day walker with breaks of days in between before exploring somewhere else. At one time I lived on a boat and enjoy sailing with someone else in charge at the helm. Being a Capricorn I admit to being more of an earth personality and attracted to earth centred activity.
I enjoy listening to world music and spiritual music genre and am into experimental musical improvisation with friends using traditional Indian instruments, singing bowls, hang and other drums. I also enjoy contemporary dance theatre, including Indian dance and Flamenco and love flamenco guitar music. Occasionally I participate in expressive dance retreats. I am also interested in astronomy, solar activity, and in relation to how this impacts our weather and our moods. I am quite an eco warrior type, petitioning and campaigning against environmental crimes and other injustice. I enjoy a debate and rant on the changing and irresponsible politics of the past few years, and further discussion on how this affects the population and possible solutions in how to contend with it. Saying this, I have no fondness for politics.
I would be looking for a peaceful and tolerant relationship, appreciative of my nature and with some interests in common, and some of their own, and with a respect for and own need for personal space within a relationship. I would also dream of a mutually supportive, and considerate, unselfish giving of friendship and honesty in every respect.
I am also looking for new female friends with interests in common, to meet up with generally, for going out together, eating out, theatre/events etc and travelling. I am not adverse to future housesharing between 2-4 people if anyone is interested and would like to nurture friendships working towards such a possibility.
