I've been a birder ever since I was a wee boy and have come right back to it in the last 10 years or so. I believe you never really 'give up' a passion/hobby/pastime if it is important to you, or is in your soul. When my kids were small and with a fairly demanding job, I decided to let the 'real' birding take second or third place in my list of priorities, but now that they have their own lives, I've re-connected with my love for the birds and wildlife around us. I'm equally as passionate about the planet we live on, it really is amazing, but then so is our species ability to get it wrong on so many levels!!!
I've been on my own for 17 years with a few 'friends' in that time and all are still friends too, which is important to me, I guess I'm looking for the impossible in a friend who shares my passions, but life is too short to let it pass so despite my reservations, I'm on here now in the hope that I may make contact with some like-minded women. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!!
