Hello! Here’s the deal. I’m sane, grounded, thoughtful, intelligent, independent, honest, sensitive and loving. I value these qualities in others. I love nature, beauty, music, dance (more 5 Rhythms than Strictly...), the outdoors, wild places, wildlife, gardens, books, art, theatre and film. I’m successfully self employed and quite hard working but thinking about ways to downshift in years to come. I like my home comforts and have a good standard of living but I’m not materialistic.
My dream for the future currently has me living somewhere beautiful and quite rural with land where I can have a small garden, grow a few veg while letting the rest of the land go wild to grow trees and give the birds and beasts somewhere to live their lives. It would be a place where there was always a place at the table for friends, and a bed for the night. There would be music, and time to watch the stars or the sunbeams or the firelight. I'd love to meet someone who shares a similar dream, or to plan some other wonderful future together!
Lots of people on dating sites are looking forward to travelling the world in their retirement. I love foreign travel but I also want to live sustainably, so I ration my air travel, and I wouldn’t be the ideal partner for an aspiring globe trotter! I do think there’s a great wealth to be explored right here on these islands and I love spending time in the wilds of Scotland or Wales.
Even though I’m pretty independent, I also have a dream of meeting someone who I can share with in a very deep and open hearted way. I’m looking for emotional intelligence, mindfulness and a willingness to learn and grow together. This probably sounds very serious, and in truth I think this is a serious business – we’re talking finding a person to share a life with, what could be more serious than that?! - but I also love to laugh and play, and I can laugh at myself. I don’t think happiness depends on external factors, I think it comes from within.
