I'm an American expat. I've lived in the UK for over 16 years. I grew up in the country with my grandma, who always had an organic garden. We got milk from local cows and made our own butter and yoghurt. We also made home-made bread with organic flour from a local mill. We used to can or freeze all the vegetables from the garden, so we had good food all year round. On and on. So I was lucky enough to grow up breathing fresh air and eating real food with real flavour, not the mass-produced dead food from supermarkets.
I love London, but I miss country life. I really want to meet a funky, like-minded companion to enjoy life with and build a rural homestead.
I have a master's degree, but don't work in that field. I am a freelance web designer, but am ready to change that path and do something more entrepreneurial. I'm interested in starting an online shop selling natural products. I've been self-employed for over 14 years and plan to stay that way. I could never again work for somebody else. My freedom is too important to me.
I don't smoke; I rarely drink; I don't do drugs. I do eat meat, but not a lot of it, though I do occasionally have a thick juicy steak. I don't go near pork or lamb. I love all vegetables and fruits, quinoa, falafil, hummus, beans, grains, rice, and most vegetarian and vegan dishes.
While I am very strong-minded and can think for myseslf, I'm also a little bit old-fashioned in that I am happy with traditional male/female roles. I want a manly, assertive man who is confident and strong enough to put his foot down.
It would be wonderful to meet a like-minded man who's a bit of a rugged type and is interested in building and living in a hand-made/restored/natural house, growing organic veggies, and living a clean life.
