I live in rural andalucia in a large comfortable house that I share with two friends. I've been living in this area since 1988. I came here on holiday with my then husband and 3 year old son in 1987 and we fell in love with the Alpujarras. I'm Scottish, and my son, went to school here and then, like his parents, did his degree at Edinburgh university. He now lives in Scotland. My X and I are still good friends.
I have a small, but adequate income. I wait until I'm 67 for the spanish pension, but don't hold out high hopes. given the state of the economy here.
As a child, I was introduced to the wonders of nature by my father. Mainly bird-watching, also badgers and other animals. Now half a century later nature still enchants me. I own 2 kayaks, and love nature-watching when I kayak. I regret that most of my friends are not fit enough to come with me.
Although it's now a dirty word, I've lived a hippy life. No government handouts but close to the earth. I've planted hundreds of hardwood trees, in Scotland and also here in Andalucia. I'm interested to hear from like-minded spirits. 60+, independent and able-bodied.
