I feel privileged to live in the ruggedly beautiful North Pennines and am in my element out walking in the Northumbrian countryside, with binoculars in hand and a foraging guide in the backpack. I absolutely love my part-time job as a Walking Tour Leader on Hadrian’s Wall and the opportunity to share my passion for the spectacular scenery, wildlife, history and culture around where I live.
For holidays I choose wild places in the UK, notably the Scottish islands and west coast; Mull is a favourite.
I’m very friendly and outgoing and enjoy meeting new people. My idea of a great night out could be sharing good food and conversation with friends, a rumbustious ceilidh, live theatre or a concert. My eclectic musical tastes range from Sondheim to indie folk, via classical and world music and I love singing with both my church and community choirs.
A career in international, and latterly, community development reflects the priority I place on social justice and inclusion; I’m also deeply concerned about environmental sustainability.
I have two adult sons, pictured with me in the photograph. I’m hoping to find someone to share some adventures and encourage me up more Wainwright fells and the occasional Monro.
